Accommodations

Accommodations and meals at the University of Alberta are much less expensive than in hotels.  The University of Alberta Conference Centre at Lister Centre has three types of rooms. All prices include tax and are in Canadian dollars (exchange rates will vary-– those given here are for September 29th):

(1) traditional dormitory rooms (shared bath with linen and towel services - linens are replaced every Thursday, towels every second day of your stay) - twin rooms at $44.80 (appx. $33.00 U.S.) per room per night; single rooms at $33.60 (appx. $25.00 U.S.) per room per night.

(2) Private single-occupancy dorm rooms (private bath; linen and towel services) at $50.40 (appx. $37.00 U.S.) per room per night.

(3) a limited number of guest rooms (Queen or double occupancy) at $77.28 (appx. $57.00 U.S.) per room per night. Guest rooms will be rented on a first-come-first-serve basis; we request that only couples request guest rooms because they are limited in number.

We have also arranged a special rate of $99 (Canadian; about $75 U.S.) at the nearby Campus Tower Suite Hotel (1-888-962-2522), which is about a 10 minute walk to the University of Alberta Conference Centre.

You are responsible for making your own room reservations with the University.  Call Guest Services at 780-492-4281 (September through April from 8:30am to 4:30pm // May through August 24 hours). Please reserve ASAP in order to make sure that you get a room. The University of Alberta requires a credit card number to guarantee your room and 48 hours notice of cancellation.  You may also obtain room reservation forms here:
